People have dreams. Cos dreams is where lies hope. But sometimes, even when u harbour a dream for months or even years, it might still not come true. And the worse thing is, when u subconsciously do know tt the dream will nv come true cos tts wad reality shows, yet, u still hold on to tt piece of hope, cos there is nth else to hold on to anymore.
Now, is tt pathetic or wad?

Finally finally finally!
Finally got my driving license yst! It felt so surreal. seriously. Finally a big burden over for this really stressful week. (due to driving test and convo ball preparations) My life had been revolving arnd driving lessons for the past mth since I came back frm EUR. So now, I can finally get a move on, haha.
Went back to NBS FOC the night before, when I had thought I wldn't even go back this year anymore. But well, it's mainly because my sis is a freshie this yr, so I just wanted to go back to have a look as well. But im glad i did! cos it was great seeing some of my main commers again, and relieve the NBS FOC 06/07 Main Comm days once again. Which I dearly miss. Which was one of the best parts of my uni life, really. Seeing this year's main commers executing the program, I really wished tt time wld turn back, and I could go back to being a main commer with MY comm once again and spend all the silly fun times tgr. =)
Anyway, tmr's Convocation Ball. It's the last event tt I'll be organising for NBS, and also a final night to bid our goodbyes to many dear frens made in NBS, as everyone wld be going on separate paths aft this.
Anyhow, being on the organising committee, I really hope everything goes well, and everyone will have a magical night tgr! =)

3 years once again.
Life has fallen into its routine of driving lessons, convo ball meetings, meeting up w frens, reading books, watching TV and the like, such tt when there wasnt any TV programme tt sparked my interest today, I felt total boredom after completing my book.
Anyway, there're 3 books tt i completed recently tt's worth mentioning here. =)

At first glance, these 2 books seemed like any other chick-lit. But they're not! They're acty mystery novels, which have really captivating plots, and arent too dark at the same time. =) Size 14 Is Not Fat Either is a sequel to Size 12 Is Not Fat, but the stories aren't linked. However it wld still be good to read them in order, so tt u can understand some statements better. And there's a third instalment, which I'm so gg to find it next! =)
I thought tt his first book, The Kite Runner, was better, as it depicted the war in Afghanistan clearer, hence making the impact stronger. Or maybe, it was just bcos tt it was the first book in which I had encountered the war situation in Afghanistan, which then gave me a deeper impression. Still, A Thousand Splendid Suns is still a worthwhile read cos it'll make u take a step back and reflect. =)
Alrights, I have Candace Bushnell and John Grisham to keep me occupied for now. =)
On a side note, my sis got into NBS, and is also gg for NBS FOC. She's gg to start a whole new 3 yrs of life which I have just emerged frm. I'm really excited for her. I hope she'll have loads of fun in FOC. (and maybe even join Main Comm next yr, just like me!) And I also hope tt she'll have a v fulfilling NBS life ahead. =)

Nostalgia -- Eighty-8 ' 2009
Went back VJ today w my piano girls to attend the annual piano concert. The last time i attended Eighty-8 was in 2005 as a performer, and in 2006 as part of the audience. And, I have not gone back to VJ since 2006. So, as I was setting off for Marine Parade, I acty couldnt rem what are all the buses tt I could take there! I only rem tt there's bus 31 to take frm Tampines Interchange, but I vaguely recall tt there was another route tt I could take. It took me quite some time to realise tt the other route was taking bus 36 frm the airport, which was the bus tt I mainly took in year 2 acty. Whats happening to my memory, seriously! Well, as it turns out, Sherilyn had the same prob recalling how to get to Marine Parade too! Omg, are we just too old or wad.
Well anyway, bus 36 leaves the airport and travels on the ECP expressway before it turns into Marine Parade. I suddenly saw Singapore through the eyes of a "tourist". I realised tt this expressway is the common road which most tourists will travel by when they leave the airport to get into town area. Therefore, the bougainvilleas and huge shady trees lined along the expressway would then form the impression of Singapore being a "garden city". Well, the month-long travelling trip in EUR has brought me many new insights of Singapore in a way acty. In the sense tt I start to not take many sights in Singapore for granted, and start to think and see more things frm the perspective of a tourist at times. Over the past few wks ever since I came back, I realised tt Orchard Road isnt the area which is packed with tourists most. I realised tt there're alot more tourists in Clarke Quay area, and alot of tourists do venture onto the NEL line, since there's Clarke Quay, Chinatown & Little India there.
Okay but I digress.
Well, bus 36 goes past the East Coast Park too, and I miss ECP sooooo much! The VJ days of relaxing by the beach seemed so far away, oh goshhhh.
As for the concert, I realised tt I have lost my musicality by alot. Well, not tt I had alot of musicality to begin with, but I really lost a huge part of whatever I had in the first place. I've been so caught up with my various committees in uni, planning and organising so many kinds of events, and I have totally lost touch of the "music side" of my life. Looking at the performers on stage, I really miss performing, but more importantly, I think I need to get in touch with my piano soon. It's high time, really. Not bcos I will forget how to play e piano, (I dun think anyone can forget how to play it, after like 10 years of learning it), but bcos I want to regain the happiness of playing the piano. I'm quite ashamed of how I've totally casted my piano aside, due to schoolwork and committees.
Anyway, gg back to VJ makes me feel really old. (We're year 6!) Listening to some pieces of music tt some of my frens had played during our time there, and now some teens younger than us by 4 or 5 years old are onstage, having their turn w the pieces this time. There're also changes arnd the campus everywhere. The toilet doors are painted with graffiti and there're mirrors in almost every corner of the campus, which we cant figure out for what reason, really. And according to Mona who can rem her juniors, the IP kids have all grown up now! While I'm still adjusting to the idea of IP in VJ, the ensemble is now made up of more IP students than JC students, and this makes me wonder if VJ is acty consisted of more IP students than JC students now too.
Oh and there were students selling VJ teddy bears, which is really cute cos it's dressed in a mini-size VJ PE tshirt and Sherilyn even bought one! But none of us brought a camera out tonight so we didnt manage to take any pictures of it. Sherilyn said tt the bear had alr existed during our time, but none of us rem tt at all, haha.
Anyway, tonight was great cos all of us hadnt met up tgr for so long and I really love their company! =) Some of us ended the night with supper at Bedok 85, where I found out tt the tangyuan stall which I had always liked is called Ah Balling, through a v silly conversation.
Mona: What r u all eating?
Mingli: Ah Balling.
Me: Huh wads tt?
Mingli: Tangyuan
Me: Huh why issit called Ah Balling? (Cos i thought the tangyuan is called Ah Balling. -___-)
Mona: Then why are u called Daphne?!
And the rest of them started to bombard me with similar qns. -___-
I dunno if this time next year, I would still be able to attend Eighty-8 or not. I wonder if I would still be slogging my life away at 12am this time next year. Or would even 1am be the norm for knocking off? Oh welllllls.
