Exams over! Yay!
Gosh, i wish i could say that now. Still left with one paper. Just ONE. So totally cant wait. It doesnt help that this last module isn't a very motivating one. Worse still, the whole world seems to have finished their exams long ago. (oh okay, sorry nus ppl.) But anyway, my BnF frens have completed their exams long ago and as of now, the marketing students and 300 acc students in the other grp have completed their exams as well! Oooookay NEVERMIND, i'm luckier than my HR frens.
Having 3 papers spread over 3 weeks can get quite agonising, u see. But well, i shldnt complain much cos i needed the breaks in between. Also, i'm really glad that i've a 3 mth break after this tough semester. If this is going to be only a 1 mth break, i dun think i am ready to go back to sch to face all that proj cycles again.
Anyway, knowing how my seniors are jetting off for their month-long grad trips soon makes me look forward to my deserving grad trips as well! Year 2 officially ends tomorrow, and then we would have come full circle, twice. Final yr is approaching and so, graduation is impeding. Come nxt sem, we'll be the seniorest seniors left in sch. Really, how time flies. It seems like attending FOC as a freshie wasnt that long ago. I can also still rem how i got to know my various uni frens; those scenes are still so clearly etched in my mind.
My senior sent an email to our committee recently and in the mail, she added a line of "Thank god it's over!". I wonder if she meant just the exams, or the whole nbs life acty. Haha. Well, of cos, we all lament about getting old and having a mundane working life very soon, but I do have seniors and peers who are looking forward to their nxt phase in life. Despite the 9am mornings and 3am nights. Perhaps the novelty seems like a draw, or perhaps we all just want to search for the things out there that we couldnt find in here. And perhaps, we know that we would be a step closer to our dreams and aspirations then.
Alright, I realised that I sound like I'm the one graduating. Well, i shld get back to my studying to get past the last hurdle. So looking forward to the jap food tmr and many more yummy treats after that! I've 2 wks to treasure before internship (hence a crazily busy summer break) begins.
Also, to all dear frens who have not finished their exams yet, hang in there cos tough times don't last! =)

I think that all of us do possess this innate ability to overcome everything, somehow or rather.
It's just a matter of whether we want to.
Once we want to, we can.
It's all a matter of surviving through that difficult phase through sheer determination and positivity.
So, everything will be alright, wont it?

这一次,走得很匆忙。
离开后,才真正体会到,
这一次,真的是最后一次了。
Woke up at 8am, rushed to sch to finish a part of my project, then rushed back to hall to pack. Daddy was already waiting for me, and i finished packing a whole semester of stuff within 20 mins. A neighbour and a senior happened to walk past my room separately while i was packing and asked if i'm moving out. It was a quick reply of "yah, cos i'm not staying here to study for exams. And i'm not coming back next sem already." There was no time for a longer chat with them for the perhaps last time, no time to look around the room one last time, no time to walk through every inch of the room for the very last time.
I had been so occupied with my project for the past few days that the reality of bidding farewell to hall life didnt really sink in. It was only when i was on the way back that the realisation hit me. It was really the last time.
In the past 2 years, hall, in itself, holds a constant mix of emotions for me. It's a place which I feel proud to be a part of, for i feel very blessed to have got into hall 4. Yet, there were numerous times when I wish that I could have been a greater part of the community.
I was there, but never really there.
I was telling sha that I've always felt that it was a pity that I wasnt too much of a hall dweller. She said "But u stayed for 2 years", which was more than most ppl, since most only ended up staying for 1 yr. I replied that, somehow it isnt the quantity, but the quality that matters most.
Few days ago, as I flipped through my hall newsletter which is published every semester, I realised that I had been zero part of all the activities this sem, save for supporting the badminton matches and IHG ceremonies. I had a choice to participate, I know. But I didnt want to show face, just for the sake of it and then feeling very much out of place. The move to blk 27 makes everything seemed even stranger, cos somehow, it turns out that most ppl whom i know are congregated at blk 23. Hall events used to be a time to mingle with hall frens and catch up with one another. This sem, with some having gone on exchange or attachment, there just seems alot more unfamiliar faces around.
During the semester sometimes, I feel really bad for not supporting events and not contributing to hall. Being labelled as "one who always go home" isn't a good feeling either. Needless to say, I hold the most guilt towards the most wonderful person who got me a place in hall this year.
In any case, there were still many memorable times that I've gotten out of the whole 2 years in hall 4. Euphoria, 23 blk suppers, ahs suppers, cultural nights, OMC 2007, etc. Attending OMC as a senior made me regret alot more on my decision of not attending it while I was a freshie back then. The homely feeling and the warmth is a style way different frm nbs FOC and it's one that i really enjoy.
Throughout these 2 years, my hall has been an abode to shelter me away from the superficiality during those difficult times. It was a place for me to fall back on always. Most importantly, it was the place where I forged and strengthened some treasured friendships.
My last night in hall became the most memorable night of this sem. Really ever so grateful and appreciative of that. =)
All in all, it was good while it lasted, really. =)

"Where’s the faith?"
"Find it from within yourself"
Sometimes, when things come crashing down on us, we start to ponder a lot on what went awry. Sometimes, we blame ourselves. Other times, we attribute it to pure bad luck, what we know as ultimate suay-ness.
Take for example, the internship saga. When you cant get your desired company in phase 1, you became disappointed. When you dun even get selected in phase 2, you wonder what has happened to all your luck. When you finally get a company in phase 3, then u think, “okay so I’ve landed myself at least somewhere.” But then, later when the company decides to withdraw, you start to wonder “Why? Why? Why? WHY ME????”
This is a scenario happening to many whom i know and even up till now, the saga hasnt ended. I guess I’ve been showered by Lady Luck quite abit with my internship selection, cos I got what I desired. It was luck initially by being shortlisted for interviews, and then it was down to diligence for the preparation of interviews. So despite having good luck, hard work never fails to factor in as well.
But anyway, it’s not to say that I haven’t experienced devastating moments before. 3 years ago, when I was diagnosed with the dry eye syndrome and the fact that I could no longer wear monthly disposable contact lens daily for long hrs sent me going down the “why why why” question stream. Like “Why me, of the dozens millions contact lens wearers out there. Why me, when I take so good care of my lens. Why me, when I’m just so young and had planned to depend on contacts for the rest of my life.” Well, that kind of thing.
But it’s okay. I’ve gotten past this particular phase. There’re many things in life that once u get used to it, it’s not so much of a big deal anymore. And then, u realize that perhaps when a bigger storm brews next time, u might be equipped with more courage to brace through it.
Then today, there was that déjà vu feeling again. It could have been avoidable at all costs, but I wanted to have that extra oomph. But in the end, the double work washed away twice the efforts. I started to ponder what was the inner cause of all that. Sheer bad luck? Or pure carelessness? No matter what, it was indeed a lesson learnt. Having learnt sth is better than learning nth huh?
I wanted to run home immediately to forget everything abt sch. At times like this, I need my tv most to sink myself into the world of dramas and variety shows. Escapism, you call it. And yes, I’m so aware of that. But I just need that avenue.
Still, I returned back to hall, cos reality forces me to face the fact that I’ve yet more hurdles to clear. Luckily, there’s this great invention called MSN and thank goodness for darling Estelle’s concern which ended up in a long chat. It helped to clear my mind of not only the earlier screw-up, but another issue that has been messing up my whole mind as well. I got the reminders that I needed and I know that ultimately, I have the ability to push myself back on track.
So, i have to get that faith back.

On a side note, I saw Kenji and Kelvin on separate occasions in sch today and had short chats with them. Then, I’ve just returned back from dinner with Ryan and some other frens. Having talked to 3 foc main comm frens in a single day made me realize how much I’ve missed hanging out and talking crap with the whole group. I miss those laugh-till-you-drop times especially. Despite that all of us breathe the same nbs air almost everyday, we hardly get to see each other around esp. since so many of them are in various biz specialisations. Okay we shld really get everyone tgr after exams asap before everyone buzzes off for internships.

Sometimes, being too responsible isnt a gd thing. I shld learn how to heck my projs more. Well of cos, depending on the situation too. Anyway, i'm still v happy that my 201 report is almost DONE! Admist all the last min changes. Okay in any case, i do love my 201 grp mates. Haha. Despite being put tgr randomly, we had a gd time working tgr not just for the proj but for the many presentation qns as well. Vian came up with some impromptu nickname fun yst, and we became viannie, seekie pengie, daphie duckie, celinnie, and she hasnt come up with 1 for weilin yet. Haha what silliness, but i guess this really helped to ease the tension. Pressing deadlines make up harsh tempers at times, and sometimes all it takes is some silliness to make the day go alright again. =)
Anyway, its almost the last wk of sch. A senior said to me "hey, byebye in a wk's time", while another senior told me that i shld look at him more cos there's not much time left alr. Haha. I saw how some seniors take pictures in seminar rooms and LTs and do those whatsoever graduation stuff, and the notion of them leaving very very soon is really getting to me. Well, at least i'll still meet them in july on the night of convocation ball, but i think it'll still be different having no more seniors around, come nxt sem.
And as the last wk of sch approaches, it's also going to mark the end of my hall 4 life. But well, that shall be another story for another day.
2 more presentations and 1 more report to go! Hope everything goes well well well. =)
It's times like this when the more u say, the more i wish 'if only'.
