VJC College Day 2006

as vj celebrates its 22nd yr, it has come up with a new tagline:
Once u come to vj, u're injected with the Victoria DNA, which comprises of Outstanding, Outperforming, Out Having Fun.

omg.

anyway, we were fed with info on how well the sch has performed over this past half yr. (as usual)
we clinched 9 sports championships and i must say that i'm very amazed that our girls' soccer team, which was established abt 1 yr ago, is the A Division Champions this yr.

so btw, college day was an affair of getting to know what the class of 2004 has achieved, rather than what we've been up to.
so the moment i stepped into college, ppl all around were asking each other "oh, so when are u flying off? uk or us?"
then for those who are in local unis, they are asked "so which scholarship are u on?" and "oh why did u choose this scholarship? and not the other one?"

bottomline: i was overwhelmingly surrounded by elites.
and there are many more elites in vj, just that they werent present.

anyway, here are updates on some ppl.

christina, my wacky senior frm piano, is on a moe teaching award and currently pursuing history in nus.
haha, i can imagine her influencing her students to become communists in future, given her HUGE passion in history.

meiqi, my interesting ogl and also frm my senior cls, is doing psychology in UCL on the singapore police force scholarship. how WOW is that...

bryna, my ogl and arts fac captain is in nus fass on a sph scholarship, despite rumours that she's in london.

lydia, xingqi's fren, is going to do medicine in nus.

surprisingly, quite a no. of girls who were there today are in ntu nbs.

as the ceremony finally ended with the vj anthem (which surprisingly, i can still rem the lyrics), some super enthu vj activist then shouted " 4, 3, 2, 1 YO VJC!"... then came the cheer which is the only one that most victorians know.
omg.
sometimes the vj spirit never dies in some activists.

after today, there seems to be no more reasons for a return to vj anymore.
the returns for this half yr to visit my juniors have been fun times.
but the concert is over, the curtain is down.

as i leave the vj campus, i realised that that chapter of my life is going to be really closed.
and a new chapter beckons.
