Emotional distress was what the past 2 weeks were like at the notoriously hellish client. I cannot keep track of how many times I sighed, both out-loud and virtually on the Communicator. And I cant believe that the tears just finally fell without control at some point.
I didnt see my parents for 1 whole week, I just spent most of my Saturday hours crashing into my bed, and the worst of all, the daily 15 hrs at work for the past 2 wks spelt total stress and unhappiness.
I cannot thank my fellow peers enough for all the encouragement, esp. RC who was fighting alongside with me and yet managed to give me some postive words admist the adversity, as well as KC who's forever entertaining me through the Communicator as she was in heaven while I was in hell.
But well, everything is over now, and I had a great impromptu late night out yst with my fellow peers (abt 15 of us came!) to celebrate the end of everything, at least for now. Some said they finally saw my smiles. =)
Also, I chanced upon a senior's blog just now and read thru all those backdated entries and realised that yes, every auditor faces the same problems. All of us experience the same thing, and just like wad Seok said yst, 家家有本难念的经.
Sometimes, we focus too much on our own problems and fail to see the greater problems tt others are facing. For this fact, we should feel ashamed and remember that we are not alone and should always face everything with a positive attitude.
I think I still have alot more to learn in this journey.

Material Happiness

In audit, it's all about luck.
So when luck isn't on your side, you feast and shop in an aid to get merry.
After a few hours of inefficient attempts at trying to complete some work in office on Saturday, RC and I decided to go for some splurging. So we SHOPPED and GORGED, with some others who joined us for the sumptuous dinner.
And it was really really good therapy!

Reconciling Differences
You know you are getting older when....
1) ppl do not ask you "are u attached?" anymore. Instead, they ask "are you married?"
2) the ppl arnd you start talking abt applying for HDB flats.
And we're nt even talking abt ppl hitting the 30s anytime soon. They range frm my age to at most 5 years older, all with approximately one year of working experience?
WOW.
I know.
On a random note, it feels like a friday night now cos we managed to be ahead of our deadline and im looking forward to the buffet with my team tmr and... it's been a looooooong while since i've hit the malls on a weekday in the daytime! It's the last taste of freedom before I enter hell nxt week though.

Utter Disappointment
Tired of feeling disappointed.
Tired of having expectations and then getting disappointed.
Tired of hoping, wishing, wanting, but everything boils down to disappointment.
Just....
Tired.
Admist the blues, the only silver lining is that there's a bunch of ppl who understand and support one another through the complaining and bitching and entertaining.
But stilllllllllllllll.........

It's a brand new year, a brand new decade!
Looking at the past decade, the most major things that happened to me would have been gg thru all the academic stages and finally graduating from university and fulfilling my europe dream as well. In this next decade, what would I accomplish then? =)
Anyway, the last week of 2009 was a freaking stressful week at work. I mentioned how sad I am tt my last week of 2009 is spent in such a way to my colleagues more than once, more than twice, more than I dunno how many times. Just when I thought the nightmare would have ended on Wed, and I happily arranged a dinner with Donna on Wed night, I had to cancel out on her last minute (which I really feel so bad abt) and ended up taking away Macs with my colleague after leaving office at 9pm. And so I found out where Macs is in Tanjong Pagar. But I'd rather not know, really.
On Thursday, New Year Eve's day, where everyone is officially given a half day off, I ended up back at the same client's place in the depressing DEEP tuas and returning back to office at 1pm and ended up finishing work at 430pm. What rubbish half day seriously.
On the lighter side, I love my beloved fellow auditors who showered me with much love whenever I complained abt everything to them thru Communicator (our office's MSN-alike). I'll always rem when I was complaining a whole chunk to LRC, and the next thing tt appeared in the window was:
We're all reading this -- seok, geok, rc
and
we love you.
Jiayou!
=)))
So the dreaded peak has started for me, and lets all pray for the best. I hope everyone will be able to pull through this together with each other's support.
In the past 2 weeks, I've received news of 2 uni gd frens having tendered in their jobs, one of whom is a fellow colleague as well. I've lost 2 tanjong pagar lunch khakis suddenly. It's very sad. And it really makes you wonder what you really want from your work life and what you want for yourself. Growing up isnt easy, really.
Anyhow, here's wishing everyone happiness in this new year! I really really hope it'll be a great year.
Happy new year!!! =)
