Closure

So it's time to say goodbye to 2008.

Time to chuck my 2008 organiser away, which has indeed served me well throughout the year. I've become so reliant on it such tt i need to write down many things so as to remember them. Hence, it wasnt easy trying to find a 2009 organiser which can fulfill all the criteria i set for in an organiser. After searching Prints (where I got my 2008 organiser), Paperchase, Kino, etc. I still couldnt find one organiser which suits all I look for in an organiser at an affordable price.

And then finally, I found it in Times. =)

The colour is a tad too bimbotic, very "legally blond", i know. But there's only jungle green and turquoise as alternatives, so there's not much choice. But other than this, it's a leather organiser which means tt I can reuse it in 2010 by refilling the pages, and it comes with a ruler bookmark, notes pages for me to take down meeting or project notes, some cards compartments so tt i dont even have to bring my wallet with me sometimes, an address book categorised from A-Z as well as a pen holder slot. And it's value-for-money too, cos it costs only $19.90!

So hopefully, it'll walk through a very blessed and happy 2009 with me. =)

2008 was basically a year filled with 21st parties (i actually attended 14 bday parties, oh my goodness) and multiple projects. Other things tt I can rem abt 2008 is staying with a new roomie and everything else tt comes with it. And there're the pilates lessons I attended with sha n annkang --- which was sth tt we were able to do tgr other than stupid projects and I did really enjoy those times. I can even rem mormor's classic line when he heard tt we're gg for pilates:
"Doing pilates??? Don't get piles." Admist tt semester, there was also the convo ball preparations with the seniors, and then comes internship which was a really jolly good time. Friendships were fostered and those dance rehearsals and email spams will always stay as fond memories. Then comes yr3sem1, which wasnt very enjoyable. I wld want to rem only the good times --- laugh-till-you-drop times with my 205 proj grp mates, the tuesday dinners with jodi, and the need-to-feel-happy-meals with sha. Like how we once dragged mormor with us to Andersons Ice-cream in JP after dinner just bcos we need glucose to give off endorphins in us.

So that semester finally came to a close with the release of exam results yesterday. I didnt work very hard during the exam period, maybe due to jaded-ness, maybe due to complacency. And then, I was worried during this dec for fear of failing any modules. Luckily, my grades maintained around the same range, and hence come nxt sem, I shall not slack too much for exams so tt I can go on grad trip with a peace of mind!

The results were released on the same day of my driving test and it's totally nerve-wrecking. Frens who see me often wld know how learning driving is such a painful journey to me cos I have a monstrous instructor. And in the end, I was just sooooooooo close to passing on this 1st attempt, which makes it even more wasted cos it was a very silly fatal mistake tt caused the failure. The thought of going through the circuit again (which I had survived this time) is simply pure pure agony, omg.

The coming 2009 will be an eventful one, top of the list being the transition of a student to being a full-time working adult. But before tt, I will be looking forward to my last sem in nbs (hopefully it'll be a really good one), the National Youth Envir-Olympics Challenge event which I'm organising, my sis's graduation, my own convocation, grad trip and convo ball! And then, a whole new chapter shall begin.

In this new year, may true friendships be fostered and may the drifted friendships tighten. To dear ming, yc and sf, take care n have fun overseas!

Happy new year everyone! =)

A huge Christmas tree revolves.
3 couples lazing around, a girl reading, a table of 3 girlfriends chatting.
Darkness gradually falls.

Done with committee stuff tt needs to be cleared by tonight.
Stares into the glass window in front, looking at the hordes of people passing by.
Surprisingly, peace admist the hustle bustle found.

After Dark

Been reading Haruki Murakami's books.

Was introduced to his "Norwegian Wood" when Jas n co. bought it for my bday last yr. Since then, i've read five of his books and am working on the sixth now. Some I like it, some others not so much. Perhaps I just don't like the feeling of following a novel so closely and then when the ending comes, it just makes you go "HUH". No satisfying ending, or rather none that i can comprehend clearly.

Yet, i'm intrigued. Cos I do not understand why I can't feel his words as much as some reviewers can.
And that's why I've never given up reading his books.
I hope, and I believe, that one day I'll appreciate his prose as much, and will be able to finally comprehend the meaning behind those novels that I hadnt understood thoroughly back then. =)

On a sidenote, after having sealed my fate for post-graduation, the latter seems really near.
One more sem to don my graduation gown and throw my mortarboard and I cant wait for grad trip!!!

Last week, all of us had dimsum tgr where thereafter we spent 2 hrs discussing abt grad trip since we had to while 2 hrs away. Then just now, we went Timbre (cos we were craving for their pizzas) and then photography practising for grad trip. That is, practise how to take perfect scenery/human shots, haha.

Okay no, i'm kidding. It just happens tt a SLR was present, so we just got to exploring how to work with it.
"heyyyy machiam we're like on grad trip now!"

So yes, we all cant wait for One Fifth Avenue, Grand Canyon, MGM Mirage, Hollywood, etc etc! =)

A Role

A doctor can save lives and lessen pain for the sickly.

A lawyer can save the innocent from being wronged and punish those who have done wrong.

What can an auditor/accountant do?

Change vs Constant

Cant help but wonder what went wrong.
Cant help but ponder why is this so.
And then, helplessness and sadness sink in.

Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future. ~John F. Kennedy

So seriously, i know i should stop worrying.

Never bear more than one kind of trouble at a time. Some people bear three - all they have had, all they have now, and all they expect to have. ~Edward Everett Hale

On a happier note, mx offered to swop one of my classes with me! Cos her frens are in my current class, while her current class is my desired timing slot (even though i'll end up w a lousy tutor and not knowing anyone who's in the same cls yet). But still, anything goes for a better timetable!

A piece of good news has finally descended after so long. Hopefully this marks the start of the light at the end of a dark tunnel.

Timetable Woes

Subject registration was yesterday, and ever since then, the timetable has been at the back of my mind every single moment. It's nothing but a very depressing timetable. Can't believe tt my toughest struggle with the wrecked registration system actually happens in my final semester.

Out of 4 days of sch, 3 days are 8.30am classes.
And for tt 1 day of sch tt starts later, i'm actually attending 1.5 hr of jap class only. When my one-way journey travelling time is already 2 hrs. What nonsense right.
Not to mention many long breaks in between lessons where I'll have no one to spend with since I couldnt get all same classes with any fren.

Great, I'll be best frens with the library and the mrt next sem.
Oh g.r.e.a.t.
How agonising to spend my final semester this way.
