It's been a suffocating week and finally, it's the end of it. Emotions run high and the rollercoaster ride had been nothing but awfully terrible. Nevertheless, realisations dawned at closure. A better week shall be anticipated.

by the way,

Having to cope with changes, life in final yr doesnt seem as easy as it should be. No doubt its slacker, timetable-wise. But so far, it hasnt been smoother.

The grass on the other side always seems greener.
We all fall into the same trap.

To my huge surprise, I find myself missing those bkk days. Yes, despite the bad pollution, agonising traffic jams, horrible taxi drivers who jump at every chance to tout passengers, I'm missing those days.

Initially, I thought there's not much need to post up photos since a dozen million ppl each have their own bangkok facebook album. But then, as I browsed through those photos, I realised I acty miss those living luxuriously and eating deliciously days. So here're some to share! =)

Views from the plane.

Swissotel Nai Lert Park Bangkok!

They have this statute/structure at the entrance of the hotel.

Interesting lighting.

Loooooonnnnng corridor.

Our comfortable room!

Pretty hotel lobby.

Okay this is the selling point of Swissotel Nai Lert Park Bangkok. And apparently, a place to gush about. Here's the swimming pool, which every hotel has one, of cos. But surrounding the pool is a lush of greenery thats so beautifully maintained, where one can indeed feel that Mother Nature is really so beautiful. Where one can find a resort feel despite being situated in the heart of a bustling (and polluted) city.

Whats more, facing the pool is a romantic and cosy alfresco dining area. Yummy breakfast on a breezy morning coupled with a nice view of the refreshing pool and peaceful green. This might be so near paradise, u know.

Okay, but we are greedy ppl so we want to be seated near food you see. And singaporeans being singaporeans, yes we want the aircon as well. Furthermore, since we're all girls, there's no need to create the feel of a romantic breakfast. Hence, this is the indoor dining area!

There, the choice of breakfast that we have everyday. I really love hotel breakfast buffets. Or perhaps, I just love the feeling of waking up and then, a breakfast buffet awaits u where u're served by polite staff. =)

Okay, ahead are photos of places where we ate over the 5 days that we were there. And this is the main reason for this blog entry, cos the food photos are just.so.appetizing that I just want to share them so that u all can visit these places when u are in bkk! I miss the food sooooooooooooooo much! And their cheap prices even more, haha.

Our 1st meal in bkk was at Black Canyon Cafe. Delicious and satisfying enough to make us embark on our 1st day of shopping feat!

Next, Thasiam. Jas n I discovered this place 2 yrs ago, tgr w sf and est, when we were all there! And the place has renovated for the better now. It's really a good and cheap place to satisfy your thai cravings, and we visited it twice this time. =)

The legendary fried rice that's still legendary as ever.

Meatballs served in a plate in the shape of a ship.

Refreshing papaya salad.

Nooooodles.

The tom yum soup here is better than Black Canyon Cafe's, in my opinion. Found the latter a little too spicy for my liking.

On our 2nd night, we decided to have sth good since we didnt have lunch. So we went to Fuji Restaurant, which sadly, only operates in Thailand! Cos I think it's better than Sakae, Genki and perhaps even Ichiban as well.

Its beautiful decor can win many jap restaurants in singapore hands down.

Appetizers. =)

As we didnt know the size of the bento sets, and we were really hungry at that time, we decided to order a bento set each. The waitress gave us a funny look when we said "3 sets" and still repeated "3?" to us. So after the appetizers, came the bento sets. Then we realised why the look frm the waitress then. No, it wasnt a language barrier. She's perhaps just amazed that we are acty going to order so much food, cos the bento sets are HUGE. And it's really so worth the money!!!

The ice-cream from here tastes great as well. =)

Sizzlers is another worth mentioning place. ;)

It was just jas and me that night, and neither of us had visited Sizzlers before. Not in bkk, not in sg. So we just ordered a main course each, where the chicken meat is really soft and tender. And it's grilled with herbs that makes it even more savory. Then we get to choose the sides, so whats here on jas's plate is mixed veggies. I chose baked potato, which had a buttery taste and it was really good.

So we didnt know that we would have access to a free salad bar. And whats even better is that the salad bar contains really ALOT of food. It's not just veggies to make up salad only. There's also various types of soup, potato salad, salmon salad, coleslaw, pasta (yes even pasta! which can make up a main course alr), jelly, etc etc.

One of the several servings of the salad bar that we had, haha.

We cleared everything on our plates cos we were really starving. As it was our last night there and hence, we needed to rush to shop for the things we need before the shops closed, we delayed dinner till 9pm bkk time which equates to 10pm sg time. So imagine how hungry we were, esp. since we had forgo lunch that day! Then, the total bill amounted to only 388 baht. No VAT, no service charge, no nothing. So that means abt S$8 per person! Omg, how would i not miss BKK's Sizzlers right.

So Sizzlers give away mints too, just like Fish n Co!

MBK at night. Like really really late night.

On our last day, how could we miss this right. =)

Okay thats the end of our food adventure in bkk city! I'm feeling really hungry now after looking at the photos. Now for stuff other than eating. =)

Thai massage!

10 hrs of shopping daily.

Part of our shopping loots from day 1 and 2. We didnt bother to take pictures after that, haha.

One of our numerous visits to the bank/money changer. =(

Then came the time to say goodbye. Any longer in the land of smiles, I think the horrible taxi drivers would drive me crazy. Haha okay thats a little exaggerating. But 5 full days of bkk for simply shopping and eating is enough i guess. Before we do full damage to our bank account.

Yet, now that im back, im missing those days again! Perhaps it's just the feeling of being on a getaway.

Or rather, I just dont want sch to start proper i guess.

Though sch has been quite slack so far, I can foresee the proj anguish appearing all over again. Anyway, i attended proper lessons yesterday, walked along the corridors of S4 for the 1st time this sem, stepped into FAL for the 1st time since sch has started, and i feel nothing but OLD. It's not so much of the age number, but more of the seniority level you know. We see many more unfamiliar faces around, we see freshies gathering in big groups, we see ppl acknowledging each other and saying "hey! u're studying here?"

And then a feeling of "been there, done that" gushes over.
