And then, yst i headed back to my beloved hall with roomie! Me to move into my new room, she to move out since she'll be gg on exchange nxt sem. So yup, photos galore ahead, with the abode that has accompanied us for the past 1 and 1/2 yrs (3 sems)!
So this is my storey, and its also the highest point of Hall 4! We climb 7 flights of staircase everyday, really good training, haha.
Welcome into our room!
Will definitely miss blk 23 very very much, cos i'll be moving off to blk 27. Its only been this sem that 23 has become much more happening, cos soooooo many of them have moved in here. And yet, i'm moving away. Hmmm but nvm, i'll still crash 23 blk supper in future! haha. Really cant imagine how hall life will be like nxt sem, cos its gonna be very different without jodi i guess. But at least there're still other frens around, so welllll, will just see how. =)

After the trip back frm hall to home, i managed to change into formal office attire and squeeze in an hr for a haircut before rushing down to Amara Hotel in the evening! Went to help out at NBS Alumni AGM which was followed by a seminar.
Despite the mad rush and everything else, I'm really glad that i attended this event cos it was a truly enriching and meaningful experience. I hadnt attended any networking sessions held in sch in the past sem, so yst night served as my 1st experience attending events of the like. From interacting with the alumni to the conversations held with my seniors and littered with little details of everything else done in networking sessions, it was a valuable lesson which i've gained. And it gave me a deep realisation that no matter at which point of time in our life we are at, there're always still alot more things awaiting to be found out and be learned in order to improve ourselves as a whole. =)
And this is what we got as an appreciation gift for helping out at the event! Thought this namecard holder looks not bad, except that i dunno when i'll have the chance to use it though. haha. =)

I spent the whole afternoon just now reading through the blogs dedicated to the 5 dragon-boaters who have filled the hearts of most singaporeans for the past wk. And it feels really heart-wrenching. The President of NTU sent an email to everyone of us, expressing his condolences and informing us that 3 of them were part of our extended family -- 2 being alumni, 1 being a prospective student who was supposed to enter nxt yr. Even though i dunno any of them personally, i felt really heavy-hearted after reading through the various blogs. Its probably cos some of them are my frens' frens, perhaps cos they're all so young with such promising futures, perhaps cos we're all about the same age and i can understand fully how every young person has so many dreams awaiting to be accomplished, perhaps cos i can totally relate to them in so many aspects.
4 of the blogs were frens' dedications to them, while Reuben had his own blog penned by himself when he was still around. Through it, i totally can understand what he meant by his thoughts on being the chairperson of Piano Ensemble in his poly, and all the various thoughts on music, and by listening to his music compositions, one just cant help but feel that this is someone really outstanding in this field. And the fact is, its not just the music arena. The last post holds many questions for us all, as we're left to ponder what it was all about. It just simply hurts to read the words. The 4 other blogs allowed us to understand how everyone of them was like, and reading every blog is as painful as it can get in itself. Its really a tragedy in Singapore sports history.
This topic came up between the group of us at the alumni event, and grace was telling us how scary it is that more and more young adults just leave the world just like that. It's getting so common you know.
In itself, this tragedy will also serve as a reminder to all of us that its really a blessing to be able to live and see the world as we can today. And as quoted frm xj, as long as we're healthy, we shld really really be contented.
